Quick and Easy Friendly Halloween Spiders
I love crafting (especially with my kids), but let’s face it, Tiny Humans lose interest after like ten minutes. Needless to say, I like to keep things simple, easy and well within their limited attention span. I also believe the key to any successful craft project with kids is having it ready to go beforehand so they can just dive right in (seasoned mom tip). This quick and easy DIY is perfect for ages 3-100+. It requires a few inexpensive items you can easily find at the local super store or craft store of your choice. We purchased our pom pom packs from Target (in the dollar bin section), along with the pipe cleaners and glue.
- 4 Pipe cleaners per spider (we used black & purple)
- Large pom poms
- Goggly eyes
- Paper plate and paintbrush (optional, but recommended)
Take a single pom pom,
And 4 pipe cleaners…
Wrap pipe cleaner around pom pom and twist to form legs.
Repeat with all four pipe cleaners until you have 8 spider legs. Form them to make creepy cute spider legs and to help him stand up (tiny humans under five might need help with this step).
Grab two goggly eyes for your friendly spider…
Apply glue to your eyes (I like to use a paint brush). Paint brushes help keep the mess to a minimum with Tiny Humans AND give them a chance to work on hand-eye coordination!
Let glue dry and then admire your new friendly spider. He or she is prefect for decorating the house for Halloween. And best of all, he’s not at all scary for the littlest of Tiny Humans in the house!
We hope you and your Tiny Humans enjoy this fun craft as much as we did!
