As moms, we all know how hard it can be to keep going when we're under the weather. But don't worry, we've got you covered with some tried and true tips and tricks to help you make it through your day, mama!

These aren't revolutionary ideas, but somehow we find it hard to do these four simple tips when we're sick in the carline because there are no days off, am I right?

Tip #1:

Hydration is Key Drinking plenty of fluids is essential when feeling under the weather. Water, tea, and clear broths are great options to help keep you hydrated. When you're feeling under the weather, it's important to stay hydrated. But how much fluid is enough? As a mom, you know that there's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. However, a general guideline is to drink at least 8 cups of fluid per day, more if you have a fever, are sweating, or have diarrhea. Try sipping on water, herbal tea, or clear broths to help replace fluids lost while you're sick. Don't forget to keep a refillable Mom Culture tumbler or mug by your side to make sure you're getting enough fluids!

Tip #2:

Mama, when you're feeling under the weather, it's important to give your body the support it needs. Essential Supplements Taking care of your immune system is crucial when fighting a cold. That's where vitamins come in! There are a few key vitamins that can help you get through a cold with a little extra oomph. Vitamin C is a classic for a reason - it can help boost your immune system and reduce the duration of a cold. Vitamin D is also important, especially during the winter months when you may not be getting enough from sunlight. And don't forget about zinc - it can help shorten the length of a cold and reduce symptoms. Check out Mary Ruth's Vitamin Line for high-quality, organic options

Tip #3:

Rest is Essential. We know, as a mom, this one is tough. But trust us, getting some rest is critical to recovering from a cold. Getting enough rest is crucial when fighting a cold or flu. The general guideline is to aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night. However, if you're feeling particularly run down, don't hesitate to take naps or get more sleep during the day. Remember, your body needs time to heal and recover, so giving it the rest it needs is essential to getting back to feeling like yourself again. As a busy mom, we understand that taking time for yourself can feel like a luxury, but trust us, your body will thank you. If you're struggling, communicate with your partner to ensure you get the rest you need.

Tip #4:

Communication is Key Speaking of communication. Make sure your partner is aware of your needs and that you're both on the same page regarding taking care of yourself. It's critical to make sure you get the rest you need.

Remember it's important to communicate with your partner about your need for rest. Here are some tips for having this conversation:

  1. Be direct: Let your partner know that you're not feeling well and need some extra rest.
  2. Offer solutions: If possible, suggest ways to help ease the workload so you can get some rest. Take-out night, a sitter or seeking outside help until you feel better.
  3. Be understanding: Remember that your partner is also balancing their own responsibilities, so try to be understanding and find a solution that works for both of you.
  4. Be honest: You need to be honest and communicate your needs our partners are NOT mind readers and sometimes aren't the best with taking the cues. Be upfront, tell them you need to tap out for the night and could use some extra rest and down time.
